Our History

Almost 30 years ago, Clare and Kathy Tannas founded a consulting company specializing in vegetation inventories. This company quickly grew into a native seed production facility and environmental consulting company.

By 2011, ESRS had grown into one of the largest suppliers of native plants in Alberta. Additionally, ESRS continued to expand its educational program, teaching over 60 people annually in plant identification courses, and increasing the number of environmental consulting services available through the company.

To continue this growth, it was decided that a new dedicated consulting company was needed, and so in November 2011, Tannas Conservation Services Ltd. was born and true to the family tradition, remains a family-run company led by Steven and Eileen Tannas.
